Andrew Fink's Priorities:
- Defend the will of the people by judging the law according to the original meaning of the text as passed by the voters or their elected representatives.
- Uphold our constitutional system of government and the freedoms it protects.
- Ensure the efficient administration of our lower courts and that every person receives due process, not just insiders.
Marine Corps Judge Advocate
Andrew’s first job as an attorney was as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps. As a Marine Judge Advocate, Andrew took responsibility for caseloads across diverse legal areas. As opposed to many new lawyers in the private sector, Andrew immediately received exposure to a variety of cases and hands-on experience as a Marine officer. He specialized in estate planning while in the Marines, helping the other men and women serving in our armed forces with preserving and managing their assets. During his service, Andrew was promoted to the rank of Captain and awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
House Judiciary Vice Chair
As the highest-ranking Republican member of the Michigan House Judiciary Committee, Andrew has dealt with a wide assortment of policy issues impacting our judicial system. The committee has taken up legislation related to trial court funding, estate planning, probate court rules, appeals court judge compensation, treatment courts, and many other issues that impact our judiciary. Additionally, Andrew has used his role on the Judiciary committee to argue for our constitutionally protected civil rights, speaking out against bills that would undermine them.
Experienced Attorney
Andrew comes from a family of experienced, successful attorneys, including his father, who served in the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, and his grandfather, who was a district court judge in Michigan. After finishing his time as an active duty Marine officer, Andrew began work with his family’s law firm, Fink and Fink, practicing civil litigation, probate litigation, property law, and municipal law. Andrew eventually opened his own satellite office for Fink and Fink in Hillsdale County.
Michigan's Highest Legal Bodies
Andrew has a tenured history of interacting with or serving on some of Michigan’s most important bodies in the legal world. He was appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court as a commissioner-at-large for the State Bar of Michigan, was appointed by the Speaker of the House to the Michigan Commission on Uniform State Laws, and has appeared in courts at every level of the judiciary, including the Michigan Supreme Court. Among the cases Andrew worked on at the state Supreme Court is Rafaeli v. Oakland County, in which Andrew provided legal counsel to a man whose property was foreclosed for a marginal amount of unpaid taxes. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Andrew’s client, saying that his property rights under the Michigan Constitution were violated.

I am running for the Michigan Supreme Court because our justice system needs to be focused on the law, not the personal views of the judge. Upholding our Constitutional rights is a judge's sacred duty because every one of us deserves due process, equal protection of the laws, and the guarantee of a fair day in court. I am ready to take the oath of office and do justice under law. Join me.
